diy: indoor herb garden

Spring is just around the corner and I’m itching to try new gardening ideas! I saw a cute kitchen caddy/organizer at Ikea awhile back and thought it would such a fun way to display an indoor herb garden. Plus, the wall in our kitchen nook looked a tad sad so now it has a little pizazz to it! :)

Since the pieces are from Ikea, the installation was quick annnnd the project is super affordable! Add some herbs from the local home improvement store and voila! An instant herb garden!

Quick note: Not all herbs do well indoors so be sure to ask your local gardening expert before you buy! For Southern California, the expert suggested basil, cilantro, parsley, and mints.

  1. This is fantastic! We have an IKEA nearby and I haven’t seen these- I’ll have to look the next time we’re there. It’s so nice having fresh herbs for cooking!
