diy: halloween invitation

A party always begins with the invitation! It’s a great way to get your guests excited about your event and there’s something special (maybe even nostalgic?) about getting an actual invite!

Below is a simple invitation I made with a personalized tag on top. The striped leggings were created by placing strips of orange paper over the purple legs. I cut the strips at different widths for a whimsical look. The personalized tag has an embossed stamp (using embossing powder) and hand wrote each guest’s name.

Embossing is a terrific way to add texture to your paper surfaces! Here’s a video tutorial on how to do it (courtesy of CraftALotAustralia)…I love her accent!
