handmade cards can take awhile to make depending on the amount of materials used. but i’m all for simplicity so for me, less is more.
here’s the skinny on this card. i needed a card FAST for a co-worker’s birthday and i only had four hours left in my evening to make it. a quick way to make a great card is choosing the right kind of paper. this means…choosing paper that is textured, colorful or has a graphic design/background. in this case, i got two of out three: colorful and fun circular graphic pattern! after that, i added a layer of embellishment (dimensional sticker) and ribbon. i chose a solid color for the ribbon so that it complemented the fun/vivid background. for the inside of the card, i wanted to keep the fun theme of the patterned paper so i used it as a background with a white vellum sheet over it. i used three brads to hold the papers together. lastly, i added a simple message on the front to commemorate the purpose for the card: a happy day!
this card took me less than 30 mins to make and i had a little over 3 hours to enjoy the rest of my evening! hooray! :)
