diy: popcorn bags

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m planning a baby shower for a friend. I thought it would be super cute to serve popcorn in little bags so guests can walk around with a snack in their hands. Since the party is space-themed, we’re calling these “meteor rocks”…yum!

1 – You will need:

  • Mini Paper Treat Bags. I got mine from Michaels
  • Ruler
  • Fun ribbon
  • Pencil
  • Adhesive scrapbooking tape runner
  • Pre-printed labels. I used a regular clipart and added “Meteor Rocks” tagline. For my bags, I used 2.5″ round labels from Paper Source but you can use any labels and any size as long as it looks proportional to your bag
  • Scissors
  • Scrapbooking scissors. The one I’m using has a scalloped edge

2 – Figure how tall you want your popcorn bags to be. These are on 4″ tall. Make your pencil marks on the backside of the paper bag. Since you’re putting your decorations on the front (the most flat side), you don’t have to erase the pencil marks.

3 – Use the adhesive tape runner to secure your ribbon across the front of the paper bag. Adhere the label over it.

4 – Fill your bags with yummy “meteor rocks” and enjoy!
